About Guitars Amps and Beyond
Over 20 years ago I bought a warehouse that was centrally located in a very densely populated area. Always having an interest in music and having many friends in the music business it was suggested that I let a group use the warehouse to rehearse. I did and the rest is history. The spot became the place to practice. I then made the decision to close the doors and turn the warehouse into a first class studio. The construction took about a year. We ended up with the premier studios in the area (Network Music Studios). We added a recording studio and the business grew.
Over the years our customers were showing up with top of the line Fender Stratocasters, Gibson 335s, Dinkies and Les Pauls. Basically everything you could imagine walked in the door. The musicians all had one constant concern. They all hated taking their good guitars to gigs and to rehearsal. Many times we were asked to get in some guitars they could buy and use and leave their prize possessions home.
We started looking around for the right supplier that would help us answer our customer’s problems. We started importing samples and leaving them in the studio so the guys could play them and give us feed back. We settled in on a few products and started to order them in small quantities. The feed back was good from our customers. We then added a few more models and products and through the years we moved to the internet.
Today we no longer offer products at our recording and rehearsal studios. All of our sales are through the internet.
In the last several years we have been approached by some great companies. We have elected to stay with guitars that are more than a great name and a high price. We take a great deal of time looking for good values. As most of you know by now we are the only distributor of Siempre Guitars. The classical line is by far the best quality guitar you can find even if you pay twice as much. If you go to the Siempre site you will learn a little about the company. We ordered a container of guitars before the holidays of 2007 and figured they would last us for 14 months. Well we made a big mistake. Siempre was a classical and steel string guitar corner stone in the 60s. The company was resurrected with the original owner still involved. Well the guitars came in, that was the good news. The bad news was, the world remembered the brand. We were sold out by mid January of 2008. Basically the guitars lasted us for 2 months. We new the guitar would be remembered by some, but not by so many. I think this sums it up. At a sales meeting when I said “how did this happen” Dom and Jay said together “who knew”.
Any way we have been getting in many more guitars from Siempre and we have resurrected some of the top guitars they made back in the 60s. We are sure this will be our premier line in classical guitars for years to come. The model 250, 260 and 270 classical Siempre guitars are works of art and the Guitarista 210 is a value to beat all.
As you know we also have electric guitars under the name of level 11 by Siempre (some of you will remember a famous line in a cult movie where they said “this amp goes up to 11”) This is a great guitar for the price. There are many electric guitars on line that sell by price alone. Level 11 is a notch up. This is a relatively new line for us. We are working close with the company to improve on the line and expand it. We believe this line has the potential to dominate the industry in the affordable market. As before, every time we get in a new model we send it to our studios and let the guys beat it up and we take their feed back seriously.
There will be several other lines that we will be introducing into our company. However our close relationship with Siempre is what we have needed for years. Their commitment to only sell to us in the USA has allowed us to devote our attention to them. For example, we searched the web and bought many inexpensive classical guitars in the $49.00 range. Every guitar we received from our competitors was unplayable at best, and looked like a child had hand painted it. We took them apart and worked with Siempre to develop a full size classical that you could be proud to play and was finished like a $300.00 guitar. It took 16 months, but we came up with the Hombre 109 by Siempre. And the price met the competition. Siempre is making a statement never heard in the industry before. They ultimately gave us a 109 classical guitar that has the finish found on very expensive guitars. Then they went the extra mile and gave us a spruce top. The guitar is a gem. Last week we took it to Guitar ------ (I can’t say the name, but it is a large national store) and compared it to their products. We were amazed at the playability and the sound and so were the sales guys. This is a guitar for a beginner that he will be playing 30 years from the day he gets it.
We are committed to bringing you a better product at a better price.
